A woman was stabbed to death in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and the deceased has been identified as a 41-year-old mother who was living with her two children.
Based on information from witnesses and other sources, the police are investigating the possibility that she was attacked while she was at home with her child on the morning of the 12th, and whether there were any suspicious people coming and going at the same time.
On the 12th, a woman was found collapsed in the parking lot of an apartment building in Miyachi-cho, Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and was later confirmed dead.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Kumiko Hirata, 41, who lived in the apartment with her two children.
The investigation so far has revealed that the child was seen crying and screaming in the parking lot of the apartment at around 7:30 a.m. on the 12th, about 20 minutes before Ms. Hirata was found.
In addition, when we interviewed the police, we learned that a neighbor told us that he also saw Mr. Hirata himself around the apartment during the same time.
The police are investigating the possibility that Ms. Hirata was attacked by someone who visited the apartment when she and her child were there on the morning of the 12th, and are also investigating whether there were any suspicious people coming and going at the same time.
