Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akabane ”Addition of trips to / from Go To Tokyo from 1st as scheduled”
Regarding ”Go To Travel,” a measure to stimulate tourism demand, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akabane announced at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 29th that he would add travel to and from Tokyo as scheduled from October 1st.
The government is conducting an on-site investigation to see if infection prevention measures are thoroughly implemented at accommodation facilities to which discounts are applied.
Regarding this, Minister Akabane has clarified that more than 90% of the facilities have so far implemented temperature measurement and three-cs measures at restaurants.
However, as there were a certain number of facilities where identity verification at check-in and notification of points that travelers should comply with were not sufficient, both businesses and travelers were urged to take thorough infection prevention measures.
On the other hand, from the 1st, you will be able to use coupons that can be used at tourist facilities and souvenir shops.
As of the 28th, there are about 100,000 stores where coupons can be used, and a list of stores will be published on the official website of ”Go To Travel” after 1:00 pm on the 29th.
