Seibu Railway: A train that runs only on electricity made from sunlight
From April 1st, the railway company Seibu Railway decided to operate the Yamaguchi Line train using only electricity produced by sunlight.

The Yamaguchi Line is about 2.8km between Seibukyujo-mae Station in Saitama Prefecture and Seibu-Yuen Station in Tokyo.
It is used by about 1 million people a year, including those who come to see baseball games at Seibu Stadium.
Seibu Railway cooperates with an electricity company to use electricity produced by its own company in the sunlight.
Until now, about 300 tons of carbon dioxide was emitted a year to produce the electricity needed for the Yamaguchi Line, but the company says that it will be almost zero from now on.

In Tokyo, Tokyu Corporation also operates the Setagaya Line using only electricity produced without emitting carbon dioxide.
