Myanmar became number 1 country in opium production, overtaking Afghanistan.

ミャンマーのアヘン生産量せいさんりょうがアフガニスタンを抜ぬき、世界せかいトップになったことが、国連薬物犯罪事務所こくれんやくぶつはんざいじむしょ（ＵＮＯＤＣ）の新あらたな報告ほうこくで分わかった

Myanmar beats Afghanistan, becoming the the world’s top opium producer, according to the finding from the new UNODC’s report.

ＵＮＯＤＣが発表はっぴょうした報告ほうこくによると、ミャンマーの今年ことしの生産量せいさんりょうは１０８０トン

According to the report from UNODC, Myanmar produces 1080 tons of opium this year.

これに対たいしてアフガンでは、イスラム主義勢力しゅぎせいりょくタリバンの暫定政権ざんていせいけんが昨年さくねん４月がつにアヘンの原料げんりょうであるケシの栽培さいばいを禁止きんしし、生産量せいさんりょうが９５％減少げんしょうした

In contrast to that, the Taliban government of the Islamic state Afghanistan has banned the cultivation of poppy — opium’s raw material — since April of last year, resulting in a 95% decrease in its production.

一方いっぽうミャンマーでは、アヘン生産量せいさんりょうが３年連続ねんれんぞくで増加ぞうかし、今年ことしは前年比ぜんねんひ３６％増ぞうだった

On the other hand, opium production in Myanmar has been rising for 3 consecutive years, with an increase of 36% in the previous year.

同国どうこくの「アヘン経済けいざい」は１０億おく～２５億おくドル（約やく１４６０億おく～約やく３６４０億円おくえん）の規模きぼとなり、国内総生産こくないそうせいさんの２～４％を占しめている

The said country’s ‘opium economy’ worths about 1 - 2.5 billion dollars ( approximately 146 - 364 billion yens), occupying 2 - 4% of its GDP.

同国どうこくは数十年前すうじゅうねんまえから麻薬生産国まやくせいさんこくとして知しられてきた

The country has become known as a drug-producing country since decades ago.

２０２１年ねんのクーデター後ごはさらに、国内こくないで続つづく経済停滞けいざいていたいや政情不安せいじょうふあんを背景はいけいにアヘン生産せいさんが急増きゅうぞうしている

After the 2021 coup d’etat, the country sees a rapid increase in the opium production from its continuing economic stagnation and political instability background.

昨年末さくねんまつには内戦ないせんの激化げきかやインフレ、生活苦せいかつくの影響えいきょうで栽培農家さいばいのうかが増ふえた

The number of cultivating farmers increased at the end of last year from the aggravation of civil war, the inflation, and the influence of the struggle to make ends meet.

今後特こんごとくに北東部ほくとうぶシャン州しゅうなど、紛争ふんそうが激化げきかしている国境地帯こっきょうちたいでこの傾向けいこうが強つよまるとみられる

The trend has a tendency to get even stronger in the future, especially in the Northeastern Shan state, where the dispute is aggravated in the border area.

ＵＮＯＤＣはまた、ミャンマーでは最近さいきん、灌漑かんがい（かんがい）システムの整備せいびや肥料ひりょうの使用しようで生産効率せいさんこうりつが上あがってきたとも指摘してきする

UNODC also points out that Myanmar most recent development of agricultural irrigation system and the use of fertilizer improve the production efficiency.

ケシ栽培さいばいだけでなく、合成麻薬ごうせいまやくの密造みつぞうも急増中きゅうぞうちゅうだ

The illicit production of the synthetic narcotic drugs is also rapidly increasing, not only the poppy cultivation.

ＵＮＯＤＣによると、シャン州しゅうでは近年きんねん、有力ゆうりょくな民兵組織みんぺいそしきや犯罪集団はんざいしゅうだんが、合成麻薬ごうせいまやくの密造みつぞうと取引とりひきで連携れんけいしている

UNOCD also reports that the Shan state’s paramilitary power and the criminal group have been cooperating in the manufacture of the illicit drugs.

ＵＮＯＤＣはさらに、アジア全体ぜんたいで麻薬まやくビジネスが成長せいちょうし、犯罪集団はんざいしゅうだんが当局とうきょくの取とり締しまりを避よけるために新あらたな密輸みつゆルートを確立かくりつしているとも指摘してきした

UNODC points out that the illicit drug business has been growing in Asia as a whole from the establishment of new smuggling route of the criminal groups to avoid the supervision from the authorities.

隣国りんごくラオスの北部ほくぶボケオ州しゅうを通とおる密輸みつゆルートはオーストラリアや日本にっぽん、ニュージーランド、韓国かんこくなどともつながりを深ふかめているという

Is it also said that there is a deepening connection of the smuggling route through the neighboring country, Laos’ Bokeo province, to Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
