Marian Robinson, mother of former US first lady Michelle Obama, dies at 86

Marianne Robinson, mother of former US first lady Michelle Obama, has died.
This was revealed in a joint statement from the Obama and Robinson families.
He was 86 years old

”She was loved beyond words as a sister, aunt, neighbor and friend to many,” the family statement said.

Robinson lived with his family in the White House during the Obama administration.
He was often seen attending events with the presidential family, such as handing out bags of candy to children on Halloween.

Robinson is originally from Chicago and returned to the city after the Obamas left the White House.
She has two children, including Michelle, with her husband Fraser Robinson.
Fraser passed away in 1991 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
