December 10th is Human Rights Day.
At a United Nations conference on this day in 1948, it was decided that it is important for everyone in the world to have human rights.
In China, attorneys and families working to protect human rights were prevented from leaving home on this day.
On the morning of 9th a government person came to the home of attorney Wang Zhenli, who had been in prison until April, to tell him not to leave the house.
At the house of Mr. Yobunsei, an attorney who was sentenced to four years in prison in June, a government official came into the house on the 9th and told his wife not to leave the house.
The two are lawyers who are known around the world for their efforts to protect human rights.
