Suicide bombing in Somali capital

According to the Somali police, there was a suicide bombing at a hotel in the center of Mogadishu on the 27th, and al-Qaeda-affiliated extremist Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
At around 8:00 pm local time on the same day, a suicide bombing occurred at the gate, followed by a group of criminals bursting into the hotel.
The site is a hotel frequented by ministers and lawmakers, and is located near the presidential palace.
The district is heavily guarded with parliament buildings, ministries, and a high-security prison

The Somali army, with the support of the United States, has been conducting operations to wipe out Shabaab in central and southern parts of the country since August.
The former Trump administration in the United States ordered the withdrawal of US troops from the country, but in May of this year, the Biden administration decided to redeploy US troops to support local authorities and counter Shabaab.
