Spoons and forks start charging 6 yen at directly managed stores
大手コンビニ店「ファミリーマート」がスプーンを6円など有料化を始めることになりました
Major convenience store ”FamilyMart” will start charging 6 yen for spoons.
FamilyMart has announced that starting from the 29th of this month, it will begin charging for six plastic spoons, forks, and straws at approximately 100 directly managed stores nationwide.
Spoons and forks cost 6 yen, dessert spoons and straws cost 4 yen.
This initiative is expected to reduce approximately 4 tons of plastic per year.
FamilyMart has been working to reduce plastic consumption by switching to lighter spoons with holes in the handles.
