New remains of a man and a woman have been unearthed in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Archaeologists have revealed that coins and precious jewelry belonging to these people were also unearthed.

今回こんかいの区画くかくの発掘はっくつでは、古代こだいの建物たてものや遺物いぶつが数多かずおおく見みつかった

Many ancient buildings and artifacts were discovered during excavations in this area.

具体的ぐたいてきにはパンの製造所せいぞうしょ、改修中かいしゅうちゅうの家屋かおく、精巧せいこうな絵画かいがで飾かざられた複数ふくすうの部屋へやなどだ

These include a bakery, a house under renovation, and multiple rooms decorated with elaborate paintings.

Archaeologists who unearthed the remains say the original large house was under renovation.

ベッドにいた女性じょせいは金きん、銀ぎん、銅どうの硬貨こうかと、金並きんならびに真珠しんじゅのイヤリングを握にぎりしめていた

The woman in bed was clutching gold, silver, and copper coins, as well as gold and pearl earrings.

「この部屋へやを避難場所ひなんばしょに選えらんだ２人ふたりの人物じんぶつは、軽石かるいしが降ふり止やむのを待まっていた

”The two people who chose this room as a place of refuge waited for the pumice to stop falling.

軽石かるいしは数時間すうじかんかけて、家いえの他ほかの場所ばしょを徐じょじょ々に埋うめ尽つくしていった」

Over several hours, the pumice gradually filled other parts of the house.”

扉とびらが閉しまっていたため軽石かるいしが部屋へやに入はいってくることはなかったが、中なかに閉とじ込こめられた男女だんじょは火砕流かさいりゅうにのみ込こまれて死亡しぼうしたと考古学者こうこがくしゃらはみている

Since the door was closed, no pumice could have entered the room, but archaeologists believe the man and woman trapped inside were killed by the pyroclastic flow.

The room had a wooden bed, a stool, and a marble table.

Bronze, glass, and ceramic artifacts remained on the table, and a large copper candelabra was also found on the floor.

男女だんじょの遺骨いこつに関連かんれんする貴重きちょうな人類学的じんるいがくてきデータの分析ぶんせきを通つうじ、当時とうじのポンペイでの日常生活にちじょうせいかつにまつわる相当量そうとうりょうの情報じょうほうが得えられると、研究者けんきゅうしゃらは期待きたいを寄よせている

Researchers hope that analysis of valuable anthropological data related to the remains of the men and women will yield a significant amount of information about daily life in Pompeii at the time.
