JR東日本ひがしにほんは、運転うんてん士しが乗のらないで、自動じどうで走はしる新幹線しんかんせんの運転うんてんを10年ねんぐらいあとに始はじめたいと考かんがえています

JR East are planning to start running driverless shinkansen within the next ten years.

JR East are planning to start Self-Driving Shinkansen services by financial year 2028

上越新幹線じょうえつしんかんせんの新潟駅にいがたえきと長岡駅ながおかえきの間あいだから始はじめて、自動じどう運転うんてんをする所ところをだんだん多おおくします

They’ll begin with Jyoetsu Shinkansen between Nigata station and Nagaoka station, but plan to expand rapidly to many other routes.

そのあと、運転うんてん士しがいない新幹線しんかんせんの自動じどう運転うんてんを始はじめます

After this phase of the plan, they’ll begin removing drivers from these trains and making the Shinkansen fully automated.

運転うんてん士しがいない新幹線しんかんせんには、事故じこや災害さいがいのとき客きゃくが避難ひなんできるように案内あんないする人ひとが乗のります

The company is also considering driverless Shinkansen on the Hokuriku & Touhoku Shinkansen services.

On the 10th the company said that as part of the continuation of this plan it hopes to start running these self-driving trains, manned with drivers, in FY2028.

Due to Japan’s declining number of children, the company is concerned that there will not be enough drivers in the future.

Jr East Japan will roll out trains that run without a driver in the next 10 years.

The company announced their plans on the 10th to have automatic trains on the driver Shinkansen line in 2028.
