Supermarket Ito-Yokado has started experiments with the government to eliminate throwing away unsold food at stores.
In the experiment, the same kind of food is divided into 4 parts according to how long ago it was made, and different stickers are attached so that customers can understand.
So things that have been made a long time earlier will be made cheaper.
So customers can buy cheap food and to find if leftover food can be avoided.
At a store in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, they are experimenting with 16 foods such as bread, tofu, and desserts.
