18-year-old and 19-year-old real name public relations prosecution considers cases subject to lay judge trial

The revised Juvenile Law positions 18 and 19 years old as ”specific juveniles” and states that if you are prosecuted for a criminal trial in a case at these ages, you can report your real name etc.
According to the people concerned, the prosecutor’s office is considering an operational policy based on publicizing the real name when a specific boy is prosecuted in a case subject to lay judge trial.
The policy will be summarized soon, and the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office is expected to inform the public prosecutors offices nationwide.
The subject of lay judge trial includes cases such as murder, injury and death, and murder-robbery.
It is up to the media to decide whether or not to actually report the real name of the specific boy.
