The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency OIJ has recently indicated that the death of the 14-year-old son of former New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner at a beach resort in Central America, Costa Rica, is related to carbon monoxide inhalation.

A joint investigation was conducted by the technical department of the Costa Rican Fire Department and the OIJ.

Next to the hotel room where Mr. Miller was sleeping, there was a machine room, and it is believed that there was some kind of contamination that may have caused the current situation.

On April 1st, the hotel expressed their condolences to the Gardner family, but also indicated that the cause of death has not yet been determined.

We are deeply saddened by the death of a minor at our facility, the hotel said in a statement to CNN.

The appropriate level for this case should be 0, but up to 600 ppm was detected.

Mr. Zuniga also pointed out that this is the first development by the police in this case.

Mr. Brett Gardner and Mrs. Jessica announced on March 23 that Miller passed away suddenly due to illness while on vacation.

According to OIJ, the Gardner family was vacationing at a hotel in Manuel Antonio, a town located in the central Pacific coast region of Costa Rica.
