Police shoot 11-year-old boy who called for help in Mississippi, USA

In an interview with ABC News, Adrián said he ran out of the room and was shot.

Adrien’s mother, Nakara Marie, said that on Saturday, May 20, around 4 a.m., the father of another child and a former girlfriend showed up at her home looking furious and felt unsafe. He asked Adrián to call the police.

When the police arrived, they asked everyone inside the house to raise their hands and go outside.
”I was told to raise my hand and come out, and my son left,” said his mother, Nakara Marie.
Officers reportedly shot Adrian in the chest as he ran out of his room with his hands up.

Adrián was taken to hospital where he was treated in an intensive care unit.
He sustained serious injuries, including a fractured rib and damage to his lungs and pancreas, but is now on the road to recovery.

The police officer who fired the shot has been suspended, and on Tuesday, 30 May, 10 days after the incident, Adrian’s family filed a lawsuit against the city and at least two police officers.
