The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on the 10th that the Ukrainian authorities said that the staff was replaced at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant for the first time in three weeks.

According to the IAEA, the personnel change is only the second time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began.

IAEA Secretary-General Rafael Grossi said personnel changes are important for the safety and reliable operation of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The nuclear power plant was under Russian control for five weeks until the Russian troops withdrew on March 31.

Ukraine has told the IAEA that the laboratory for radiation monitoring has been destroyed and that the analyzer has been stolen, destroyed or disabled.
