FamilyMart, a major convenience store, announced that it will switch some of the four types of pasta dishes such as meat sauce and Napolitan to ”biomass polypropylene” that uses renewable ingredients such as used cooking oil.
Until now, it was made of petroleum-derived plastic
In collaboration with the parent company ITOCHU, it will be expanded to other products in the future.
The Disposable Plastics Reduction Law is expected to come into effect next spring, and efforts such as changing bento containers to paper are spreading in the convenience store industry.
