The proposed amendment would require companies to allow employees to choose a work style from multiple options, such as telework and reduced working hours, from the age of 3 until the child enters elementary school.
Additionally, the application period for overtime exemption will be extended from the current period of ``until the child turns 3 years old’’ to ``until the child enters elementary school.’’
In order to enable both men and women to balance work and childcare, the obligation to publish the childcare leave take rate will be expanded from companies with ``over 1,000 employees’’ to companies with ``over 300 employees.’’
The government aims to pass this amendment bill in the current Diet session.
