Skateboarding cracks station glass; 8 foreigners, including Japanese, fined/Taiwan
日本人を含む外国人8人のグループが12日、北部・新北市の台北メトロ（MRT）板南線永寧駅で、スケートボードに乗ってガラスにひびを入れるなどの騒ぎを起こし、合計2万8500台湾元（約13万4200円）の過料を科せられていたことが15日、台北市政府警察局捷運警察隊の発表で分かった
On the 12th, a group of eight foreigners, including Japanese, caused a disturbance at Yongning Station on the Taipei Metro (MRT) Bannan Line in New Taipei City in the northern part of the country by riding skateboards and cracking windows, resulting in a total of 20,000 people being injured. On the 15th, it was announced by the Taipei City Government Police Bureau Metro Police that he had been fined 8,500 Taiwan yuan (approximately 134,200 yen).

Station staff found the eight people returning at around 7:18 p.m. on the same day and tried to question them, but the eight refused and fled.
Four of them are said to have illegally crossed the automatic ticket gate.

All eight people were subsequently questioned by police.

All men, aged between 27 and 35, admitted to being involved in the disturbance, and said they were willing to pay more than 66,000 yuan (approximately 310,000 yen) to replace the glass.

Taipei Metro emphasizes that breaking glass on a skateboard, illegally climbing over ticket gates, and refusing to explain the situation are all violations of the Mass Transportation Law, which sets rules for the metro.
It is possible to claim fines and compensation for damages.
