京都きょうと　「平等院蓮びょうどういんばす」というはすがきれいに咲さいている

Kyoto: The lotus called ``Byodoin lotus’’ is blooming beautifully.

世界遺産せかいいさんになっている京都府きょうとふ宇治市うじしの平等院びょうどういんという寺てらで、ピンクや赤あかなどのはすの花はなが咲さいています

Pink and red lotus flowers are blooming at Byodo-in Temple in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, which is a World Heritage Site.

この中なかで「平等院蓮びょうどういんばす」は、25年ねん前まえに庭にわの池いけを調しらべたときに江戸時代えどじだいの地層ちそうで見みつかった種たねから育そだてました

The petals are very white and thin, just like the lotus painted on the wall of the national treasure building called ”Phoenix Hall.”

「鳳凰堂ほうおうどう」という国宝こくほうの建物たてものの壁かべにかいてあるはすと同おなじで、とても白しろくて薄うすい花はなびらです

According to the temple, the lotuses started blooming last week.

寺てらによると、はすは先週せんしゅうから咲さき始はじめました

It looks like it will bloom a lot this year, and the color of the flowers is also nice.

今年ことしはたくさん咲さきそうで、花はなの色いろもいいです

People at the temple say, ``When I see the white flowers, I feel like my heart is clean.’’

寺てらの人ひとは「白しろい花はなを見みると、心こころがきれいになった気持きもちになります

I hope people feel better when they see the lotuses.”
