　タイの旧正月きゅうしょうがつを祝いわう「ソンクラーン」は、仏像ぶつぞうを水みずで清きよめる伝統行事でんとうぎょうじから発展はってんし、現在げんざいは「水みずかけ祭まつり」が各地かくちで行おこなわれています

”Songkran”, which celebrates the Thai New Year, evolved from the traditional event of purifying Buddha statues with water, and now ”water festivals” are held in various places.

　ユネスコは6日むいか、ボツワナで開ひらかれた政府間委員会せいふかんいいんかいで、ソンクラーンの無形文化遺産むけいぶんかいさんへの登録とうろくを決きめました

　決定けっていを前まえにタイでは1日ついたち、海外かいがいからの観光客かんこうきゃくを増ふやすため、来年らいねん4月がつの水みずかけ祭まつりを例年れいねんの3日間みっかかんから1カ月間げつかんに延長えんちょうして開催かいさいする案あんが出でていました

　期間きかんを延長えんちょうすることで1400億円以上おくえんいじょうの経済効果けいざいこうかをもたらすという試算しさんもありましたが、「水みずの無駄遣むだづかい」や「交通事故こうつうじこが増ふえる」といった批判ひはんが相次あいつぎ、この案あんはすぐに撤回てっかいされました
