Bologna’s Leaning Tower could ”suddenly collapse”; city plans measures
イタリアのボローニャ中心部で１０００年近く前に建造された斜塔「ガリセンダの塔」について、「突然の予期しない倒壊」に備えて市民を守る計画を市が立案しています
The city is drawing up a plan to protect citizens in case of the ``sudden and unexpected collapse’’ of the Leaning Tower of Garisenda, which was built nearly 1,000 years ago in the center of Bologna, Italy.
市の発表によると、塔が倒壊した場合に備えて金属製の防護壁を設置し、がれきによる周辺の建物や人への被害を防ぐ計画
According to the city’s announcement, the plan is to install a metal protective wall in case the tower collapses to prevent damage to surrounding buildings and people from the debris.

防護柵は地面に固定し、やはり金属でできた特製の落石防護ネットを取り付けます
The protective fence will be fixed to the ground and a special rockfall protection net made of metal will be attached.

The possibility of the tower collapsing was pointed out in a report compiled by a scientific committee that has been monitoring the tower since 2019.
