Two children read speeches on Mohammadi’s behalf.
Last year in Iran, a woman died after being arrested for wearing a headscarf incorrectly.
Demonstrations broke out in various places, calling for women’s rights and the freedom to express their opinions.
In her speech, Mohammadi said the demonstrations were, ``What women and young people did together for democracy, freedom, and equality in Iran.’’
Even when the government used great force, those who said they needed freedom continued to exist.
Now is the time for the world to support Iran.”
