Successful plant cultivation in ”Moon soil” Collected by Apollo program

American researchers succeeded in growing plants for the first time using the soil they brought back from the moon about 50 years ago.
A research team at the University of Florida announced on the 12th that plant seeds were germinated in the soil brought back by the ”Apollo Program”, which was the first time in history that humans landed on the moon about 50 years ago.
NASA = 12 grams of lunar soil called ”regolith” was taken from NASA, and when water and nutrients were added and Arabidopsis seeds were planted, most of them germinated.
However, the growth is slower than the soil of the earth to be compared, and the soil of the moon is considered to be ”stressful” for plants.
The United States is proceeding with a manned lunar exploration ”Artemis Program” in which Japan and other countries participate, and researchers say that they have ”taken the first step in growing plants on the moon.”
