Ibaraki Prefecture holds an international marlin fishing tournament in Oarai Town in August
茨城県は、今年8月27日と28日に大洗町で、カジキという魚を釣る国際大会を開くことを決めました
Ibaraki Prefecture has decided to hold an international competition for fishing marlin in Oarai Town on August 27th and 28th this year.
This is the first tournament in Japan where foreigners also appear.

Since 2006, we have been holding a ”trolling” tournament to catch marlin from a moving ship using a lure.

The Fisheries Agency changed the rules last month, allowing foreigners to trol in a fixed location and period.
Depart from Oarai Marina and decide the ranking according to the number and weight of the marlin caught
Ibaraki Prefecture wants foreigners to know about Oarai and come to see it.
