Film “Totto-chan: By the window” gets Award at The Annecy International Film Festival in France

The film based on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi’s autobiographical novel “Totto-chan: By the window” won a special award at the world’s largest animated film festival in France.
On the 15th “Totto-chan: By the window” directed by Shinnosuke Yakuwa won the Paul Grimault Award at the Annecy Animated Film Festival
“Totto-chan: By the window” was written autobiographically by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi about her early childhood. Published in 1981 it became an international bestseller.
Before the end of the war Totto-chan was expelled from elementary school for being restless and transferred to Tomoe Academy. The importance of individually is depicted, as she grows through the interactions with the Principal of Tomoe and Friends she meets.
The Original book was translated into Chinese along with others and has received worldwide acclaim.
