The three passengers who paid for the flight were John Schofner, an American businessman who made a fortune in the international telecommunications business, Ali Alkarni, a fighter pilot of the Saudi Arabian Air Force, and Barnawi.
Alkarni and Barnawi’s travel expenses were covered by Saudi Arabia.
