Aomori Prefecture Kindergarten children pull a big net to catch fish
青森県平内町で5月31日、大きな網をみんなで引いて魚をとってみる会がありました
On May 31st in Hiranai Town, Aomori Prefecture, there was a party where everyone pulled a big net to catch fish.
The fishermen’s cooperative holds this event every year to get children interested in the sea and fishing.
First, a fisherman puts a net about 50 meters long into the sea far from the coast.
Then seven kindergarten children and adults pulled the net on the beach while saying ”yoisho”.
After about 10 minutes of catching fish, there were scallops and tanago in the net.
There was also a large sea bream about 30 cm long, and the children were looking at the fish with great interest.
The children took home the fish they caught
子どもたちは「網を引くのが楽しかったです
I want my mother to put it in curry,” or ”I want to eat it as sashimi.”
