At least five people were killed and 130 injured when an earthquake of magnitude 7 struck the north of the Philippines on the 27th of July.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the northern part of the Philippines’ most populated island of Luzon at 8:43 a.m. local time on the 27th of July.
The epicenter was about 13 km southeast of Dolores, Abra, Luzon, and the epicenter had a depth of 10 km.
Even in the capital, Manila, which is more than 400 kilometers away, the tremors were felt.
Interior Minister Benjamin Abalos stated at a news conference that landslides have been reported in 58 locations and more than 200 towns across 15 states have fallen victim.
