The crime is believed to have been committed not because the owner was Gaga, but because the French Bulldog was trading at a high price.
After the incident, Mr. Gaga offered a prize of 500,000 dollars = about 54.5 million yen, but it is not clear whether it was paid or not.
Local media reported that police had advised Gaga not to pay the bounty.
