High school students experience cutting trees in VR
林業は、森や林で木を育てて売る仕事です
Forestry is the job of growing and selling trees in forests and woods.
A class using VR was held at a high school in Shimane Prefecture to get people interested in forestry.
27 second year students took the class.
When you wear VR goggles, you can see images as if you were in the forest.
While watching this video, the students had the experience of cutting down a large tree with a chainsaw.
I also had a real chainsaw

The woman said, ``I like using large machinery to transport wood, so I’m glad I chose this job.’’
80% of Shimane Prefecture’s area is forest.
島根県は面積の80%が森や林です
