Mitsubishi Motors completely withdraws from China; slump due to expansion of EVs

Mitsubishi Motors has a joint venture with a Chinese manufacturer and has mainly produced gasoline-powered vehicles at factories in China.
However, in China, the shift to electric vehicles has progressed rapidly, and last year’s sales volume fell to about one-fifth of the peak level.
Other Japanese manufacturers are also struggling in the Chinese market due to a slow start in EV adoption.
On the 24th, Mitsubishi Motors decided to completely withdraw from production and sales in China.
