56 people killed in Sudan as fighting intensifies, Doctors Without Borders

国際医療組織こくさいいりょうそしき「国境こっきょうなき医師団いしだん」は１６日にち、アフリカ北東部ほくとうぶスーダンの北きたダルフール州しゅうの州都しゅうとエルファーシルで戦闘せんとうが激化げきかし、今月こんげつ１０日とおかから１５日にちの間あいだに少すくなくとも５６人にんが死亡しぼうしたと明あきらかにした

The international medical organization Médecins Sans Frontières announced on the 16th that at least 56 people were killed between the 10th and 15th of this month as fighting intensified in El Fasir, the capital of Sudan’s North Darfur state in northeastern Africa.

The doctors’ group said in a statement that 454 people had been taken to South Hospital in El Farshir since the 10th, of which 56 died from their injuries.

また、戦闘せんとうは依然いぜんとして激はげしく、多おおくの人ひとが病院びょういんまでたどり着つけないことから、実際じっさいの死傷者数ししょうしゃすうははるかに多おおい可能性かのうせいが高たかいとの見方みかたを示しめした

He also said the actual number of casualties was likely much higher, as fighting remained intense and many people were unable to reach hospitals.

``Northern Darfur was relatively safe within the Darfur region,’’ the group said, ``Now there are snipers on the streets and heavy shelling.’’

A report released on the 15th by the Humanitarian Research Laboratory at the Yale School of Public Health states that ``significant conflict-related damage was observed in the eastern and southeastern parts of El Farshir between the 10th and the 14th.’’

ＲＳＦと国軍こくぐん（ＳＡＦ）が「市内しないで地上戦ちじょうせんと砲撃ほうげきを拡大かくだいし、繰くり返かえしている」という報道ほうどうと一致いっちしている、とも指摘してきしている

It also points out that this is consistent with reports that the RSF and the Armed Forces (SAF) are ”escalating and repeating ground combat and shelling in the city.”

The United Nations Special Representative for Sudan said on the 15th that fighting has escalated in El Fasir and the entire city is in a dangerous situation.

On the same day, the United States imposed sanctions on two RSF commanders for directing operations in Darfur.

Fighting broke out in Sudan between the national army and the RSF in April last year.

国連人道問題調整事務所こくれんじんどうもんだいちょうせいじむしょ（ＯＣＨＡ）によると、これまでに８８０万人まんにんが避難民ひなんみんとなり、２４８０万人まんにんが支援しえんを必要ひつようとしている

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 8.8 million people have been displaced and 24.8 million people are in need of assistance.
