Paris mayor and others swim in Seine to promote safety before Olympics

The mayor of Paris swims in the Seine River, where water pollution is an issue, to emphasize its safety.
On the 17th, Mayor Hidalgo of Paris and President Estanguet of the Paris Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games swam in the Seine River with citizens.
Triathlons and marathon swimming are scheduled to be held in the Seine River, but water quality tests last month did not meet the standards on 25 out of 28 days.
Things have been improving since the beginning of this month, but the organizing committee has a policy of holding the triathlon only with bicycles and running if the standards are not met, and the marathon swimming will be held at a venue on the outskirts of Paris.
