Pray for success in exams with carnations that never fall
大学や高校などに入るための試験が、今月から多くなります
There will be more exams to enter universities and high schools starting this month.
Farmers in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture are growing special carnation flowers to support test takers.
This carnation is called ``cheering flower’’ and is grown slowly in a greenhouse without heating.
The flowers are less likely to fall off, so many people give them as gifts in hopes of passing their exams instead of failing them.

Flower shops sell them for around 1,500 to 2,000 yen.
The farmer said, ``I hope everyone taking the exam will do their best, just like the carnations that bloom in the cold.’’
The carnations will be on the market until the end of this month.
