A photo of a polar bear curled up and dozing on an iceberg captivated voters and won the People’s Choice Award in this year’s wildlife photographer contest.

英国えいこくのアマチュア写真家しゃしんか、ニマ・サリカニ氏しは、夢ゆめのような場面ばめんを捉とらえた作品さくひんでの受賞じゅしょうを誇ほこらしいと語かたる

British amateur photographer Nima Sarikani says she is proud to have won the award for her work capturing dream-like scenes.

「氷こおりのベッド」と題だいしたこの作品さくひんは、ノルウェーのスヴァールバル諸島しょとうで撮影さつえいした

This work, titled ``Ice Bed,’’ was shot in Svalbard, Norway.

「気候変動きこうへんどうは私わたしたちが直面ちょくめんする最大さいだいの課題かだいだが、この写真しゃしんが希望きぼうも呼よび起おこすものになってほしい

”Climate change is the biggest challenge we face, but I hope this photo also inspires hope.

私わたしたちが引ひき起おこした問題もんだいを解決かいけつする時間じかんはまだある」と、サリカニ氏しは報道向ほうどうむけの発表はっぴょうで述のべた

There is still time to resolve the problems we have caused,” Sarikani said in a press release.

運営うんえいによると、同どうコンテストに投票とうひょうしたのは過去最多かこさいたの７万まん５０００人にん

According to the organizers, a record 75,000 people voted in the contest.

「氷こおりのベッド」は応募総数おうぼそうすう５万点前後まんてんぜんごから絞しぼり込こんだ最終候補さいしゅうこうほ２５点てんの中なかから選えらばれた

”Ice Bed” was selected from among 25 finalists narrowed down from a total of around 50,000 entries.

野生生物写真家やせいせいぶつしゃしんかコンテストは英えいロンドン自然史博物館しぜんしはくぶつかんが主催しゅさいする

The wildlife photographer competition is hosted by the Natural History Museum, London.

同館どうかんを統括とうかつするダグラス・ガー氏しは、受賞作じゅしょうさくを「感動的かんどうてき」で「息いきをのむ」と評ひょうした

Douglas Gurr, director of the museum, described the winning work as ”moving” and ”breathtaking.”

The winning entries and the four winning entries will be on display at the Natural History Museum in London until June 30th.
