German museum employee fired for displaying his own work

A German man briefly realized his dream of having his work displayed in a famous museum.
しかし、この野心ある芸術家の離れ業はかえって雇い主と、さらには警察との大問題を引き起こし、チャンスへの期待はわずか数時間で消え失せた
However, the ambitious artist’s exploits got him in big trouble with his employer and then the police, and any hopes of a chance were dashed in just a few hours.
独タブロイド紙「南ドイツ新聞」や独ミュンヘン警察によると、５１歳の展示技術者で自称「フリーランス芸術家」は２月２６日、ミュンヘンにあるピナコテーク・デア・モデルネ美術館に自分の絵画をこっそり持ち込み、展示室の壁に飾った
According to the German tabloid Süddeutsche Zeitung and police in Munich, the 51-year-old exhibition technician and self-proclaimed ”freelance artist” secretly brought his paintings to the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich on February 26. I brought it in and displayed it on the wall of the exhibition room.
A security guard who discovered the new addition to the museum’s exhibits immediately removed the painting and the man was fired.
男は美術館に勤務していたため通常の開館時間外でも敷地内を出入りでき、自分の絵画を展示していることに気付く者はいなかった
Because the man worked at a museum, he was able to enter and exit the premises even outside of normal opening hours, and no one noticed that he had his paintings on display.
It’s unclear how long the man’s 60cm x 120cm painting was on the wall, but a museum spokesperson said it probably wasn’t hanging there for long.

Tine Nöhler told Sueddeutsche Zeitung Zeitung: ”Managers notice things like this right away,” adding that she does not know what the painting depicts.
CNN has reached out to the museum for comment but did not receive a response.

This incident came to the attention of the police.
Police told CNN that the man is being investigated on suspicion of criminal damage to property and could face a fine or up to two years in prison if convicted.

Munich Police Chief Superintendent Christian Drexler told CNN: ``Of course we have filed criminal charges.’’

Drexler said: ``The painting was attached to the exhibition wall with two screws, which caused damage, and the Munich Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating the damage caused by the drilled hole.’’ ``The total damage is estimated at approximately 100 euros (approximately 16,000 yen).’’
The painting was removed and confiscated.”

He told CNN that shortly after workers discovered the painting, the man sent an email to the museum saying, ”As a freelance artist, I put my painting on the wall.” He confessed to his actions.
The security guard then informed Munich police.
南ドイツ新聞は、この男は契約解除の一環として美術館への出入りを禁止されたと伝えている
The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported that the man was banned from entering the museum as part of his contract termination.
同様の事件は独ボンにあるドイツ連邦共和国美術展示館でも数週間前に起きている
A similar incident occurred a few weeks ago at the Kunsthaus of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn, Germany.
Süddeutsche Zeitung reports that one student stuck his painting to the exhibition wall with double-sided tape.
Staff first noticed the students’ drawings when they found extra pieces while removing exhibits.

But the museum responded with humor.
