Toyota recalls approximately 130,000 units due to Prius’ waterproof performance

Toyota Motor Corporation has submitted a recall to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for over 130,000 vehicles due to insufficient waterproofing performance of the rear seat door handles.
The recall targets 135,305 Prius vehicles manufactured between November 2022 and April 3 of this year.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the electrical switch attached to the door handle, which allows the rear seat door to be opened and closed without using force, is not sufficiently waterproof, allowing water to get inside during car washes, etc. about it
If you continue to use it as is, the electric circuit inside the switch will short out and activate, and in the worst case scenario, the door may open while driving.
Three malfunctions have been confirmed so far, but no accidents have been reported.
Toyota says it will replace parts free of charge for all affected vehicles.
