Research to raise fish with bait using insects called black worms
Fish meal made from fish is used as feed for fish raised by humans in aquaculture.
The number of countries carrying out aquaculture is increasing, and the price of fishmeal is increasing.
For this reason, groups such as Ochanomizu University are conducting research on using insects known as American black flies as bait.
These insects grow quickly and can be used for food about three weeks after the eggs are laid.
