The consumer sentiment index has deteriorated for three consecutive months, and the underlying judgment has been revised downward for two consecutive months.
According to the consumer sentiment survey released by the Cabinet Office in November, the index representing consumer sentiment declined by 1.3 points from the previous month to 28.6, for the third straight month.
All survey items such as ”future living conditions” have deteriorated, but in particular, the index asking ”whether the time to buy durable consumer goods will improve in six months” has reached a record low for the third consecutive month.
On the other hand, 64.1% of respondents answered that ”commodity prices will rise by 5% or more in one year,” reaching a record high.
