“Flight range” of drones to increase starting on the 5th - uses expanding, such as transportation to remote islands

In line with a revision of the Aviation Law, starting on the 5th unmanned aerial vehicles, aka drones, will be allowed to fly in populated areas while out of range of eyesight.
The revised Aviation Law stipulates that as a requirement for “level 4,” or flying above populated areas while out of range of eyesight, a new “aircraft certification system” and “piloting license system” have been established to ensure drone safety.
In addition, in the event of an incident there is a mandatory report to the government, and any violations will result in a penalty.
With the implementation of “level 4” flying, they predict that the practical application of drones will drastically increase for things like delivering packages to people living on remote islands or mountainous areas, infrastructure inspections, and understanding the extent of damage in the case of natural disasters.
The market for drones is expected to be around 800 billion yen by 2027.
