Smartphones are out of range in places where there is no base station to send and receive radio waves, but it is currently possible to communicate using a dedicated antenna for Starlink, a communications satellite service by SpaceX, led by Elon Musk.
The advantage is that you can use it anywhere as long as you can see the sky, and from now on, if you have a smartphone equipped with this Starlink, you will be able to use the internet just by connecting it to the artificial satellite launched in January 2024.

This service is scheduled to be rolled out in six countries around the world, with KDDI planning to start providing it in Japan by the end of 2024.
Starlink is known for being used in an emergency response to communication failures in some areas during the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
