U.S. Department of Justice files suit against TikTok for “collecting information on children”
アメリカ司法省は2日、TikTokと中国の親会社「ByteDance」をカリフォルニア州の連邦地裁に提訴したと発表しました
On the 2nd, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that it has filed a lawsuit against TikTok and its Chinese parent company ByteDance in a federal district court in California.
Despite the fact that it is prohibited to collect personal information from children under 13 without their parents’ consent, information such as email addresses was collected.
They also claim that in many cases they did not comply with their parents’ requests for deletion.
In response to the lawsuit, TikTok has responded by saying, ``Many of the allegations are from the past and are untrue, or have already been resolved.’’
