French ski resort La Saint-Buie to close down due to lack of snow

La Saint-Buie, a ski resort in the French Alps near Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc, has decided to remove its lifts.
The decision was made because the ski season had become extremely short due to a lack of snow, making it difficult to continue operating.

The local mayor said in an interview with CNN that in the past, it used to snow from the beginning of December until the end of March, but last winter it only snowed for four weeks.
The amount was small, and the rocks below appeared immediately on the ski slope.

We were open for less than five weeks in January and February.
The annual deficit is expected to reach 500,000 euros (approximately 79 million yen).
It costs 80,000 euros a year just to keep the lifts running during the season.
