An event where students help people in wheelchairs at Ise Grand Shrine
On the 18th, there was an event at Ise Shrine in Mie Prefecture where volunteers helped people in wheelchairs.
Approximately 30 middle school and high school students participated.

The path inside the shrine is made of many small stones.
It was difficult to move forward by just pushing the wheelchair, so the students tied towels to the front tires and pulled them as they progressed.
On long stairs, I would put the front tire on the top step, then raise the back tire and go step by step.
A female student said, ``It was difficult pushing and holding the wheelchair.
But it was a good experience,” he said.
A 95-year-old woman said, ``I was very happy to see the young people working so hard.’’
