Experiment to slow down cars on pedestrian crossings for safety

In Minato-ku, Tokyo, an experiment has begun to slow down the speed of cars running on pedestrian crossings.
A strong rubber plate was placed on the pedestrian crossings and made them about 10 cm higher than the surrounding roads.
This road is often used by children attending school and those living nearby.
But cars can run there at high speeds.
Minato Ward and police will see whether cars run slower on elevated pedestrian crossings.
