We learned that due to successive price increases, monthly household spending increased by an average of nearly 15,000 yen.
In the ”Survey on Price Increases” conducted by Rakuten Insight, when we asked those who perceived price increases to be affecting their household budgets, how much their spending increased, the average was 14,673 yen.
By family composition, households with three or more generations of ”parents, children, and grandchildren” were the most common, followed by ”households with only a couple or two partners” and ”two-generation households such as parents and children.”
”Fresh food” was the most common item for which the purchase price range was lowered due to the price increase, followed by ”bread” and ”instant food.”
The most common way to overcome the impact on the household budget was ”use coupons or shop when there is a discount”, exceeding 50%.
