Mr. Choichi Ueno, a farmer in Kamimikawa Town, Tochigi Prefecture, grows ”Atomic Bomb Rice”.
”Atomic bomb rice” is rice that has been grown from rice paddies near the place where the atomic bomb was dropped 77 years ago in Nagasaki City.
Mr. Ueno got this rice from Kyushu University and grows it every year.
Even if this rice grows big, there will be a large proportion of it without rice inside.
Caused by a chromosomal problem
When Mr. Ueno goes to elementary school to teach agriculture, he talks about ”atomic bomb rice” to make people aware of the problem of the atomic bomb.
