NHL star Goudreau is hit and killed the day before his sister’s wedding in the US

NHL star Johnny Goudreau (31) and his brother (29) were killed while riding their bicycles on a road in New Jersey when they were hit by a car suspected to be driven by a drunk driver.

The two were scheduled to serve as groomsmen at their sisters’ wedding the next day.

Goudreau was nicknamed ”Johnny Hockey” because of his fighting spirit on the ice and his kindness outside of playing time.
The ice hockey world is in mourning after the death of his brother.

On the 30th, Goudreau’s team, the Columbus Blue Jackets, described their deaths as an ”unimaginable tragedy” in a post on social media.

According to New Jersey State Police, Goudreau and his younger brother Matthew were riding their bicycles on a public road in Oldmans Township in the southern part of the state around 8:19 p.m. when they passed two slow-moving vehicles. Collided by a Jeep ”Grand Cherokee”
警察はジープの運転手をショーン・ヒギンズ容疑者（４３）と特定
Police identified the driver of the Jeep as Sean Higgins, 43.
Higgins was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, according to the complaint.
”Upon further investigation, it is suspected that Higgins was under the influence of alcohol,” state police said in a statement.
