New site for travelers to the Great Barrier Reef - aiming for balance with environmental conservation

A new website has been launched to help travelers to the Great Barrier Reef, a coral reef off the coast of northeastern Australia’s Queensland state, balance tourism and environmental conservation.
サイトの名前は「サンゴ礁の守護者」を意味する「ガーディアン・オブ・ザ・リーフ」
The site’s name is ”Guardian of the Reef,” which means ”guardian of the reef.”
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ), a company funded by the local tourism industry, jointly opened the site with Expedia, a major US travel booking site.

By watching educational videos on the site, you can receive benefits such as 10-20% discounts on hotel room rates and book original tours only available on the site.
シュノーケリングやクジラ観察を認定エコガイドの案内で楽しむツアーや、ウミガメのえさになる海草の再生、サンゴの苗の植え付けなど、さまざまな活動が提供されている
A variety of activities are offered, including snorkeling and whale watching tours guided by certified eco-guides, regenerating seaweed to feed sea turtles, and planting coral seedlings.
