Yuzuru Hanyu announces divorce on SNS, ``Slander and stalking’’
フィギュアスケートの男子シングルでオリンピック2連覇を果たし去年、プロに転向した羽生結弦さんが自身の公式SNSで、ことし8月に結婚した女性との離婚を発表しました
Yuzuru Hanyu, who won two consecutive Olympics in men’s singles figure skating and turned professional last year, announced on his official SNS that he is divorcing the woman he married in August this year.
羽生さんはフィギュアスケートの男子シングルでソチ大会とピョンチャン大会の2つのオリンピックを連覇するなど長年、日本のエースとして活躍し、去年7月にプロのスケーターに転向しました
Hanyu has been active as Japan’s ace figure skater for many years, winning two consecutive Olympic Games in Sochi and Pyeongchang in men’s singles figure skating, and turned professional skater in July last year.
Mr. Hanyu announced his marriage in August this year, but on the night of the 17th, he announced on his official SNS that he was divorcing his partner.
In the letter, Mr. Hanyu said, ``Slander, stalking, unauthorized interviews, and reporting have been carried out against my partner, who is an ordinary person, his relatives and associates, and my relatives and associates as well.’’
It was extremely difficult and unbearable to continue to protect my partner and myself in the current situation.
When I thought about the future, I wanted my partner to be happy, and I wanted him to be happy without any restrictions, so I made the decision to divorce.”
